Oasis Camp: Day 3

We started the day off as usual: singing, Impossible Shot, and a tea break...

Andersen wore the team flag as a cape for the first-half of the morning... After tea break, we had our dance party...it was supposed to be a game of freeze-dance, but dancing was just too fun to make people sit down...

Here I am dancing with Bushuru...I wish he were in the picture, too...but it just didn't happen that way.

I mean, seriously...how fun is this?

Connie sat outside and talked to Linet
Etau just lounged around out front...he didn't feel much like dancing
After the dance party, Joe spoke on Jesus washing the feet of the disciples. Naturally, this was a perfect transition in to our leaders washing the feet of the kids. I didn't help with the washing...I sat and watched Orange County students I love serving the Kitale kids that I love. I sat on the steps of Tumaini and prayed for each set of kids...and, of course, became a little misty-eyed...
How beautiful are these pictures?
I can't imagine anyone has ever washed the feet of Collins and Etau...
I think Joseph is smiling because "the beautiful African-American girl" is washing his feet...
Bless Erice's heart...Evans' feet are so stinky...
Sweet little Teresa
When their feet were clean, they were given a new pair of sandals...sizes were tricky, but of course, God made it happen...
I heart Etau.
Oh, such a sweet melding of two worlds.
"Take for me one picture"
You're my boy, Bu...

At the end of the day, it was time for the giant slip-and-slide...Soap and water...what a great combination for these street kids...

Isaya loves it
Pato slid, no joke, about 15 times.

Anthony tried to "surf" the length of the slide, but kept falling...
After lunch we went to visit some Oasis houses...more on that later...
Then, Steve, Connie, Jana, Katie, Geoffrey and I went to visit the new site for Oasis of Hope and the Kitale Vocational School...

Have I mentioned that I love these kids?
