Here we are: Daina (with Emmanuel), Bram, Martin, Johnstone...

We talked about Lydia coming, how different it is to slaughter your own animals to eat as opposed to just buying the meat in the store (Stone said, "You mean you've NEVER slaughtered your own animal? ANY animal?" and then laughed at me). We also talked about our leaving...and returning...hopefully, the more we process it, the easier it will be...(yeah right, I cried during my message today when I mentioned leaving in two weeks)...
As the boys were leaving (Martin wanted to leave an hour earlier to go finish homework and study for school tomorrow) they asked to take some water with them...the two bottles provided another twenty minutes of activities...balancing the bottles which turned it to cartwheels (I could do three in a row before getting dizzy...Martin showed me up with nine...and then clinched the title with a one-handed cartwheel).

Once the boys left, I thought it would be smart to use what was left of the daylight to shave my legs...Daina joked about taking a picture (since the shorts I have to wear are ridiculously short) and we laughed about it...
Then, mid-right leg, I realized, I should take a picture...not for the shorts, but for the entire experience.
Bet you never shaved your legs this close to a chicken...or four I also am willing to bet you had not ever shaved your legs in a plastic basin filled with some tap water and some boiling water...out on the patio...and been interrupted by a group of dinner-cooking Ukrainians...beat that.
Oh, and while we're talking about my being awesome...I just caught (and squished) my SECOND mosquito today. This morning, I caught it one-handed...just now...in the dark...
That's right...I'm awesome.
Also...two weeks from right now, I will be on an airplane back to CA...crazy.

So crazy! Can't wait to see you.
So what EXACTLY did you discuss about me coming to Kenya? How are they doing? I have been trying to save every penny (donations are WAY down due to the economy here, I guess) and I haven't called the boys since before Christmas. For a while after I got back....I was calling once a week until I got my phone bill and even with my international plan it was hundreds of dollars. I really , REALLY want to talk to them though and might just break down for a quick call soon.
I'm afraid that I won't be able to come back till summer and the thought of going a YEAR without seeing them makes me so sad.......
Please tell them all that I love them so much and think of them many, many times each day and pray for them every single day.
Lydia
Shave by a chicken.............. Nope never done that. Actually, I never shaved in the backyard either. I can't wait to see you!!!!
