I Don't Believe That Anybody Feels The Way I Do About You Now...

Today, after I spoke in church (and an ant fell from the ceiling in to my open mouth...and a mouse crawled on the wall behind me during my closing thought) we invited a few of the Oasis boys to come have lunch at the house. The four we invited (well, the three that showed) are a few that never ask to come over and are so sweet and well-behaved.

Here we are: Daina (with Emmanuel), Bram, Martin, Johnstone...
We ate some lunch (beans and rice) and then ate some cake (courtesy of Grace Wanyonyi for Daina's birthday), the boys (and Daina) watched wrestling while I did dishes and then we played some football...it was a very, very fun afternoon.

We talked about Lydia coming, how different it is to slaughter your own animals to eat as opposed to just buying the meat in the store (Stone said, "You mean you've NEVER slaughtered your own animal? ANY animal?" and then laughed at me). We also talked about our leaving...and returning...hopefully, the more we process it, the easier it will be...(yeah right, I cried during my message today when I mentioned leaving in two weeks)...

As the boys were leaving (Martin wanted to leave an hour earlier to go finish homework and study for school tomorrow) they asked to take some water with them...the two bottles provided another twenty minutes of activities...balancing the bottles which turned it to cartwheels (I could do three in a row before getting dizzy...Martin showed me up with nine...and then clinched the title with a one-handed cartwheel). Every time we took a picture Stone made a face like this...and I've laughed every time I've looked at it...
We balanced the bottles...and then...
Stone lost his balance and went to grab his bottle, knocking mine off my head at the same time...
Trying for crazy faces...
Stone trying to make his neck look like mine in the last picture...

Once the boys left, I thought it would be smart to use what was left of the daylight to shave my legs...Daina joked about taking a picture (since the shorts I have to wear are ridiculously short) and we laughed about it...

Then, mid-right leg, I realized, I should take a picture...not for the shorts, but for the entire experience.

Bet you never shaved your legs this close to a chicken...or four I also am willing to bet you had not ever shaved your legs in a plastic basin filled with some tap water and some boiling water...out on the patio...and been interrupted by a group of dinner-cooking Ukrainians...beat that.

Oh, and while we're talking about my being awesome...I just caught (and squished) my SECOND mosquito today. This morning, I caught it one-handed...just now...in the dark...

That's right...I'm awesome.
Also...two weeks from right now, I will be on an airplane back to CA...crazy.

So what EXACTLY did you discuss about me coming to Kenya? How are they doing? I have been trying to save every penny (donations are WAY down due to the economy here, I guess) and I haven't called the boys since before Christmas. For a while after I got back....I was calling once a week until I got my phone bill and even with my international plan it was hundreds of dollars. I really , REALLY want to talk to them though and might just break down for a quick call soon.
I'm afraid that I won't be able to come back till summer and the thought of going a YEAR without seeing them makes me so sad.......

Please tell them all that I love them so much and think of them many, many times each day and pray for them every single day.
