Babies, Babies, Babies

On our Sunday trip to church, we ran in to the little girls from Shimo...Irene was carrying her little brother Peter. She said she has to bring him each week because otherwise he will cry at home without her...

I have been hoping for a chance to carry a baby African-style...this was it. I tied him up and carried him all the way to church and all the way home! He was so tiny, he weighed nothing...and it was so cute to feel his little hands grabbing my shirt...or his tiny head look back and forth...
After church, we had a huge dinner party...slowly, but surely the house filled with about 18 people...Geoffrey and Olivia were among the first to arrive, so we had some time to hang out with their baby, Charlotte. She's such a good kid, no crying, lots of laughing...we all fight over who gets to hold her...
Oh the lengths people will go to to make a baby laugh...
Olivia watching as we entertained Charlotte...

6 months is old enough for a first giraffe ride
Once everyone had arrived, we began the dinner...12 pizzas...after dinner we heard the stories of the Mercy kids...and then had a dance party/talent show. Each country (Kenya, America, Ukraine and Uzbekistan) had to show a dance and sing a song to represent their home."The Matrix" move...Steve needs some practice
Vitalic's talent was doing a push-up with Chris on his back...and then bench-pressing him...it was crazy. (He also did a chicken dance, but I can't upload that video...boo!)

We finished off with the National Anthem from each country...but Steve cheated and we sang "God Bless America" and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" instead.
It was a very fun party, but I was so exhausted after...not too exhausted to read some To Kill a Mockingbird, though...have you read it? If not, you should.

OOOOOH Charlotte is so cute and getting so big! She can finally fit in the little shoes I gave her! I sent those pics over to my mom (Charlotte's namesake). She is going to be so thrilled with them. Geoffrey is BAD about sending "Grandma" any pictures!

And guess what? The cd arrived in the mail yesterday!!! It took a little over a week, right? Now, Geoffrey has NO excuse for not sending me pics. I think the postage was 240 KSH....about $3.00. THANKS!

Allison, hi this is Chris' Mom Theresa. I just wanted to tell you and Diana how much I have enjoyed your posts these past months. You two are amazing young women and I hope someday I get the chance to meet you. I hope Chris was a good guy! I think I brought him up pretty good but let me know if I need to knock him in the side of the head when he gets home. Your faith and endless energy inspires me.
