Ken-ya Get A Kinyozi?

Every month or so the kids (pictured here from Oasis, but really from all over) are sent to the "kinyozi" (barber). This week, we watched as Geoffrey handed one 10 shilling coin after another to boys (and girls) headed to get a haircut.

This morning, Oasis finally became their own kinyozi! Joseph wasn't totally sure what he was doing, but that didn't stop him from jumping in.

So, this is the first "customer" at the Oasis Kinyozi...
Timo was number 2. His face says it all: sadness at having his head shaved and nervousness at letting a rookie cut it...
It wasn't too bad, though I did see Joseph pull on his sideburns a bit.
After...
Steward found this hat in a stack of stuff left behind by the teams...since yesterday, I've seen about a dozen of the boys wear it and another 5 or 6 compliment him...evidently teenagers in Kitale have VERY different taste in clothing than I do.Johnstone...he thought it was hilarious that this football looked like another head in the picture.
Oh, Duncan...he and I get along like a house on fire. He's definitely one of my favorites!
