Benja and Percy Go Swimming

On Thursday, we took a trip to the pool...as always...but this week, I went and picked up Benja first so that he could come with us...

He had never seen a pool before, let alone been swimming...so he had no idea what to imagine or expect...

We went in and changed him in to some shorts and he was confused...looking at the other kids, wondering why everyone was changing clothes...Then, he stood, waiting for everyone else to get ready. I said, "Let's go" he stopped and said, "Where?" Took my hand and we walked out to the pool.
He was nervous at first. But once he saw the rest of the kids sit on the step in the baby pool, he did the same.

I took him in the big pool, but he didn't want to jump from the side. Instead, he sat at the edge of the baby pool and would crawl in and out. I wish I could post video because Daina took a great one of his nervous behavior...

He would get in, jump and dance around for 10 seconds, and then climb out...run to the grass and run back...sit down and start over...
Then we sat down for chips...He ate almost the entire plate...and loved it...
When our taxi driver, Peter, came to pick us up, Benja shook his hand and said "Habari? (How are you?)" So cute. We drove home with him leaned forward, looking out the front window and chattering in Swahili all the way there...
I mean...this is the cutest little old-man face...

Two other pictures I love from the day...Daina hates this one of her, but we both agree, Morgan is DARLING here...
We didn't know this kid...he was there taking swimming lessons from his uncle...but Daina and I had watched "Corrina, Corrina" the night before, so we called him Percy all day. This is the best picture...and Daina took it while pretending to take a picture of Moses...really funny.
