They're Here...

So, we are back from Nairobi (not a moment too soon).
Katie and Ryanne flew in on Wednesday night...we spent the night in Nairobi, had a delicious breakfast and then drove to the Maasai Mara.
After a bust of a night safari, but a really tasty dinner, Ry, Kate and I laughed in bed for a while and then went to sleep...

The next morning, we had an amazing safari, including 9 lions in one place...
Breakfast, a drive back to Nairobi and another delicious dinner (with a chocolate milkshake) and we were sleeping again.

We met Matt in the lobby on Saturday morning (it's funny to be here with Matt...to be anywhere with Matt...I would never have guessed I'd be hanging out, laughing with Matt Gillen, without my brother...but here we are)...went to the mall for a bit and then flew back to Kitale...Chris was waiting at the airport and gave Matt about 10 high-fives in excitement. It was funny how glad I was to be back...and even to see Chris...I really missed Kitale and the comforts of home.

They brought BAGS of gifts for us! Daina got some shirts and DVDs from her sister...I got a ton of Funfetti cake and frosting! Also, some shirts, perfume, DVDs (Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Rookie of the Year!), books (Twilight 3 and 4), a hard-drive of TV I've missed, a stack of Entertainment Weekly magazines, People Crossword Puzzle books (which I've already broken-in to), an Amazon Kindle! (from my dad!), some extra clothes from home and even some Christmas decorations (which is SO SO thoughtful!)

It is slightly surreal to be in Kitale with two of my best friends...
We've had a slow start, but this week is sure to pick up beginning tomorrow.
More to come.

I should have made a paper chain.....I'm so mad that I missed my chance to get either Katie or Matt to bring the ipod and some letters/pics with them.

I have been so buried in stuff here that the time got away from me!

That being said....I am so glad your friends are there with you guys!

Give my love to Katie and tell her "Karibu" from me!

I had to tell Steward (he pretended that it was ok) that they didn't have the ipod. He was so looking forward to it. Even the best moms mess up sometimes, I guess!
