Divine Romance

Geoffrey and Lydia asked us to put together some of the best photos from our trip so far and from the Oasis camp day. So, I sat with Chris' computer and looked through our photos.

We have seen so much so far. I can't believe that I've been living in Kenya; it doesn't seem real. Doesn't seem fair.

As I was remembering faces and stories, I began to really listen to the song in the background...Phil Wickham's "Divine Romance".

In Your presence, God, I'm completely satisfied./
For You, I sing, I dance, rejoice in this divine romance/
lift my heart and my hands to show my love...to show my love.

Then came the tears.

The love I've seen, felt, learned so far. The heartache, sadness, suffering. The questions that have been raised. The hole waiting to be filled with answers. The laughter. The dancing. The jump-roping. The football. The life-long pull I will feel between life in America and life in Kenya...

No resolution to this. No complete circle. Just stream of consciousness writing...

You have a life time of memories growing from these six short months. I just went to dinner with Angie and Lynne and spent nearly the whole two hours talking about you, Kenya, my time there, the people, the love, the hope, the despair...it's not comprehendible!
I love you. I am so proud of you. Thank you for taking this time out of your life to love those people. They will NEVER forget you. Never.
