This Is My Buddy, This Is My Pal...

I will be home one month from yesterday...that thought is really sinking in...and it's making it tough during the day, to think about saying goodbye to these faces...

Yesterday, as I sat holding Benja, I was just squeezing him, thinking about not seeing his face each week...he's the only three-year-old I know that will just sit on my lap while all of the other kids are running around screaming and pulling my hair...

He sat with me for at least half an hour...just sitting...he was chattering in Swahili and pointing at things...oh, he's my favorite.

Three of the teachers asked me if I would be taking Benja home to America with me...I said, "if I had a lot of money, I would...but I don't even have a house or a job, really, so I can't..."

But, look at this face...how fun would it be to take him to McDonald's? To Disneyland? To get ice cream? (Please, don't read in to this...I'm not even thinking of bringing him home...I'm just thinking of how much I would love to see his face grow everyday)... He took this picture...I come home from Discover to Recover so filthy from one hundred children grabbing my arms and clothes that I don't shower beforehand...so this picture is really flattering...

Oh man...I love Benja...

Oh come on, he won't take that much room! I can just see him with a little Dodgers cap on and a hot dog in his hand too!
Dang, I am going to cry when you have to say good bye to them. Who do you think will miss who more?
